CPACC Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAEC) Submission Form


This form is to submit Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAECs) for the IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification program. Before you begin:

  • Have you gathered your activities?
    • Are your activities organized into either professional development or sharing your knowledge? 
      • Save time and effort by submitting your professional development in one form and your sharing your knowledge activities in another. 
      • You do not need to submit each activity as a separate form, please save yourself the time and effort by submitting one form for each group of professional development or sharing your knowledge requests.
  • Have you calculated how many CAECs you will request for each activity?
  • Your supporting documentation is saved in one of the five accepted document formats? 
    • You MUST provide verifiable supporting documentation of your participation in all CAEC activities. 
      • We must have auditable, credible, and verifiable documentation of activities that qualify for the CAECs we grant
      • Submissions with NO supporting documentation will be rejected. 
      • Have you combined your supporting documentation into one document? 
      • For on-demand programs, create a screen capture of the start page and URL of the event as your supporting documentation
    • PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, JPG, XLS, and JPEG files are supported. The max file size accepted is 25 MB per submission.

Please note our goal is to send CAEC updates during the first three weeks of the following month from the date of submission.

Before you proceed, do you have your activities list, calculation of CAECs you are requesting, and supporting documentation for each activity?

The first page consists of five text box responses. Your first and last name, email, and employer are required fields.

CPACC Continuing Accessibility Education Credits

CAEC hour requirement under the CPACC program

  • You are required to earn 45 CAECs every 3 years.
  • There is no longer a requirement or limit to the number of CAECs you can earn each year. (June 2019)
  • IAAP’s goal is to ensure your continued growth and development in the accessibility profession to maintain your CPACC.
  • You may obtain all 45 CAECs via professional development over the course of three years.
  • An average of 15 CAECs per year is a suggested pace.

CAECs are counted in 15-minute increments rounded up to the nearest number.  Credits will be based on published times. For example:

  • 40 minutes = .75 CAEC
  • One hour = 1 CAEC
  • 75 minutes = 1.25 CAECs
  • 80 minutes = 1.5 CAECs
  • 90 minutes = 1.5 CAECs

Depending on which type of CAEC you will select in the one question on this page, Professional Development or Sharing Your Accessibility Knowledge, you will be taken on to a series of questions collecting more information about your CAEC Request. If you need to submit both, please use another submission for each category.

6. Which type of CAEC are you interested in submitting?*

Professional Development

This page contains one multiple-choice question asking if this program is pre-approved for IAAP CAECs. Based on your response your professional development submissions will follow the path of pre-approved or an opportunity to submit other programs for CAECs.

If you have a series of pre-approved CAECs and others that are not pre-approved, you will need to submit this form once for pre-approved and another form for programs that are not pre-approved.

7. Is this a program that has already been approved for CAECs by IAAP?*

Pre-Approved Professional Development CAECs

This page begins with a multiple-choice checkbox list of pre-approved IAAP Professional Development opportunities. You can choose more than one submission from this list. There is a comment box for "other" that follows the list.

The last field is a required text box for you to enter the number of CAECs you are requesting.

If you attend a pre-approved conference or event with multiple sessions, please list the sessions you attended and their length (time) to calculate your CAEC request. You can submit this in the text box or in an attachment with your supporting documentation.

Sharing Your Accessibility Knowledge

Additional Breakdown of Sharing Your Accessibility Knowledge CAECs

  • One hour of structured teaching content delivery = 3 CAECs (two hours to prepare for one hour of structured delivery)
  • Featured speaker or speaking engagement = 2 CAECs per hour of speaking
  • One Year’s Active IAAP or G3ict Committee Work = 5 CAECs per committee
  • One Year’s Active Volunteer Committee Work within the Accessibility Profession= 5 CAECs per committee
  • Publication of blog series (more than five) regarding accessibility = 5 CAECs per year
  • Publication of professional or scholarly article =  5 CAECs per article
  • Publication of a book regarding accessibility = 6 CAECs
  • One hour of IAAP volunteer service (outside of committee work) = 1 CAEC
  • Organizing accessibility Meetups = 1 CAEC per event as the organizer
  • Organizing local accessibility conferences = 5 CAECs per event. Must be listed as a lead position on the conference organizing committee.
